Strategic visibility for women who lead

Your expertise should be the most visible thing about you.

We work with women who lead: founders, executives, and senior professionals, building the personal brand that does the work when you are not in the room.

The Gap

You're more accomplished than you appear.

The gap between your actual expertise and your perceived online authority is costing you opportunities you don't even know you're missing.

01
The Silent Expert

Your expertise exceeds your visibility

You're the person in the room everyone knows is exceptional, but outside that room, no one knows you exist. Your reputation ends at your firm's front door.

02
The Algorithm Trap

You posted. Nothing changed.

The standard advice (post more, engage more, go viral) was designed for influencers, not executives with genuine expertise to protect and an audience that demands more.

03
The Identity Blur

Your profile looks like everyone else's

A generic headline, a career history, a profile photo. It communicates competence. It doesn't communicate authority. The people you want to reach can't distinguish you.

Visibility is not recognition. Visibility means people can see you. Recognition means the right people see you and understand what they are looking at. Most visibility advice is built to produce the first and hope for the second. We build for the second and treat the first as a tool.

Reputation is perception, and perception is built from inputs: what you stand for, how you say it, who hears it, how often. Get the inputs right, and the perception follows. We build the inputs from materials that are already yours.

"Reputation is not what you say about yourself. It is what the right people understand you to be, without you having to say it."

The Social Cottage Philosophy

We are The people who make your offline expertise legible online.
We're not We are not a content agency, a PR firm, or a branding coach. Each has a job. This is a different one.
We work Architecturally, building systems that produce compound returns, not campaigns that expire.

The Traditional Approach

Tactical content creation
Platform-by-platform optimisation
Reactive personal branding
Follower count as the measure of success

Strategic Visibility

Strategic positioning & narrative architecture
Systematic authority building
Deliberate, engineered outcomes
Recognition by the right people as the measure

Our Engagements

Three ways to work together, in order.

Media positioning and standalone strategy work aren't separate doors. They fold into whichever tier fits, as deliverables inside the system.

Before Anything Else

It starts with a conversation.

A form first, so we arrive knowing something about you, then thirty minutes. We are not selling on that call. We are working out whether the gap you have is the gap we close. If it is not, we will tell you plainly and point you somewhere better.

Free · 30 minutes · No preparation needed

How It Works

Three steps, no guesswork.

Step 1

Book a discovery call

A short, no-pressure conversation about your work and where it is not yet visible. If we are a fit, we begin.

Step 2

We position and build

Your point of view, your profile, your content system, built on the platform where your people actually decide.

Step 3

We run it together

We keep it producing every month, so your recognition compounds while you stay focused on the work.

The Proof

Proof we can stand behind.

01

A media entrepreneur stopped introducing herself.

Twelve months of story-led content and the right people had already started arriving, knowing who she was. Her audience went from 1.8k to 13k along the way, but the audience was never the point. The inbound was.

02

A client repositioned to bridge ministry and the market.

We repositioned her as a tech entrepreneur, built the narrative, and the new position held. It ended in a book launch and Amazon bestseller status. The expertise was always there. What changed was whether anyone outside the room could see it.

03

One post. $7,000+ in sixty days.

Not because it travelled far. Because it was pointed somewhere. A single LinkedIn post, routed at a real outcome, did what most people expect a year of posting to do.

04

The industry named her before she asked it to.

A client was recognized at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival for corporate excellence. We did not pitch it. Recognition of that kind is not sought. It arrives, and it arrives only when the right people can finally see the work.

"Working with you has been a great experience. I have come to see you as someone who goes beyond content creation to partnering with me to see my vision and dreams actualized. You take my vision as yours, and we've grown together."

"It's not merely about the art of writing. It's the way it always captures my heart, my very thoughts. If you need a partner for your growth, someone who listens and truly understands your vision, this is the place to be."

The Firm

Deborah Okoye

Founder & Principal Strategist

I always knew I couldn't be just one thing. My career hasn't been linear, and that was deliberate.

I trained as a pharmacist and still practise. It gave me discipline, attention to detail, and a deep respect for trust, which turns out to be the whole job here too. Alongside it, I built a second expertise in content strategy and brand communications, and marketing is the thing I'm actually built for. I found that out by doing it.

The Social Cottage is where both come together. We work with founders, executives, and senior professionals whose expertise deserves a larger platform than it currently has. A client repositioned from ministry to tech entrepreneur and landed a bestseller. A media entrepreneur who no longer has to introduce herself. A client recognized at the Global Entrepreneurship Festival without ever asking to be.

My goal is the same every time: help you show up as yourself, clearly, to the people who matter.

Questions

What you're likely wondering.

Women who lead: founders, executives, and senior professionals who have built genuine expertise and are ready to be known for it by the right people. The typical client is respected in her field and hard to find online. Our work, our proof, and our instincts are built around that woman. If you're not her and you still think we're a fit, the call will tell us both quickly.

Most begin with the Positioning Sprint, a two-week process that produces the decisions everything else depends on. From there, most clients move into Build & Route, where we turn the position into a system and point it at an outcome. After that, we run it together monthly, which is when the asset actually compounds. You can stop after the Sprint. Some people do, and leave with something worth having.

No, and it matters less than you think. Some of our strongest work has been with clients who had almost no public presence. A blank page is easier to design than a crowded one. What you need is real expertise and a willingness to make decisions about it.

The positioning is immediate. You will know who you are to the market within two weeks, and that alone changes how you write, speak, and introduce yourself. The recognition takes longer. Inbound quality, invitations, the right people arriving already knowing who you are: three to six months. We tell you this at the start because we are not building a campaign. We are building an asset.

Fundamentally, yes. An agency executes. We decide first. An agency produces posts based on what you tell them you do. We work out what you stand for, build the architecture, then make the content express it. Content is the output of the work, not the work.

The Social Cottage is founder-fronted, which means Deborah does the thinking and the writing herself. That's the point. Positioning is not a task you delegate to a junior, and neither is your voice. It also means we take a limited number of clients at a time. If the calendar is full, we will tell you rather than stretch.

Ready to Begin

Your reputation is being designed right now, by others, or by you.

Let's talk about what changes when it becomes intentional.
